Sacramento Ballet caps off its triumphant 2023/2024 season with Innovations, a remarkable mixed bill of in-demand neo-classical and contemporary works by some of the world's finest choreographers. Join us as we explore the depth of expression and form that ballet can offer.
Val Caniparoli // Ibsen’s House - Former San Francisco Ballet resident choreographer Val Caniparoli returns with a widely acclaimed ballet that weaves a story around five female characters extracted from Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen’s plays.
Andrea Schermoly // World Premiere - Fresh from choreographic commissions with such companies as Compañía Nacional de Danza and Royal New Zealand Ballet, international sensation and South African native Andrea Schermoly creates her first work for Sacramento Ballet.
George Balanchine // Apollo - Sacramento Ballet continues its time honored connection with the George Balanchine Trust in the presentation of this neo-classical masterpiece, depicting the young Greek god as he is ushered into adulthood by the muses of poetry, mime, and dance.
Run time is approximately 2 hours, with two 15 minute intermissions.
