The Sofia, Home of B Street is closely monitoring the public health guidance and best practices related to the Covid-19 pandemic. Local rates of Covid-19 cases and vaccination for Covid-19 significantly impact our practices, therefore are subject to modification as indicated. By purchasing a ticket you expressly agree to comply with all federal, state, and local laws, regulations and ordinances, and the rules of The Sofia. The following policies are subject to change – all attendees will receive updated information in an email communication in advance of your event.

FAQs

Will I have to prove vaccination to attend events at The Sofia?

No. As of June 2nd 2022, The Sofia Tsakopolous Center for the Arts will no longer be requiring proof of the Covid vaccine. Please contact us at tickets@bstreettheatre.org with any questions.

Will I have to wear a mask to attend events at The Sofia?

We highly recommend that all attendees continue to wear masks, however masks are not mandatory. All staff and volunteers will continue to wear a mask at all times. The Sofia will have a limited number of masks available upon request.

Will there be food available at events?

We will be selling beverages and limited snacks during events. Eating and drinking will be permitted in the lobby and courtyard. Drinks are allowed inside the theatre, but no food. Outside food and beverages are not permitted.

If I am feeling sick on the day of the concert, can I get a refund?

Yes, The Sofia will offer refunds to ensure compliance with all health and safety policies. You can also opt for a voucher for a future play or concert. These vouchers will not expire.

Will events be sold at 100% capacity?

All events at The Sofia will be sold at 100% capacity. In the Sutter Theatre which is 357 seats, and in the Thrust which is 250 seats. Capacity for events taking place in Upstairs at the B will be determined on a per show basis.

What additional safety protocols has The Sofia put in place?

-State-of-the-art HVAC system to bring in 100% outside air seven times per hour and ensure the cleanest air possible. -Contactless ticket scanning and purchasing wherever possible. -Hand sanitizer stations throughout the venue. -Fully vaccinated staff and volunteers, including instructors in our education programs. -Performers are required to show proof of full vaccination. -Extra ushers available to assist with traffic flow in the lobby, concessions area, bathrooms, and elevator. -Instituted CDC-recommended cleaning practices before, during, and after shows, particularly cleaning of “high touch” surfaces.

An inherent risk of exposure to Covid-19 exists in any place where people gather. Covid-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. By purchasing a ticket, you assume all risks, hazards, and dangers arising from or relating in any way to the risk of contracting Covid-19.
