Box Office Associate

The Sofia: Home of the B Street Theatre is seeking enthusiastic, self-directed individuals with customer service experience to join the Box Office team at The Sofia Tsakopoulos Center for Performing Arts. Box Office Associates are responsible for all ticket and subscription sales and customer service support including will call operations. Associates will report to the Marketing Director and Box Office Manager respectively.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Communicating effectively and courteously with a genuine desire to provide quality customer service.
• Answering phones and returning voicemails in a polite and professional manner.
• Providing accurate information about productions, ticket prices, marketing offers, available seats, etc., to the general public and theatre company members.
• Accurately processing individual and subscription ticket orders, sales, gift certificates, ticket exchanges, refund requests, and donations through the patron database.
• Assisting patrons with special seating accommodations and ADA needs.
• Updating and maintaining the client and donor database.
• Contacting patrons regarding upcoming shows and subscription deadlines.
• Preparing and distributing tickets and subscriber information for nightly will calls.
• Organize and maintain the lobby and box office areas to maintain a professional and welcoming front of house environment.
• Assisting Director or Supervisors by preparing sales reports as requested.
• Other duties as assigned by the Marketing & Sales Director.

Qualifications:

• Two years’ customer service experience preferred
• Exceptional phone etiquette required
• Strong verbal communication skills
• Facility with Gmail, Outlook, and Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to multi task
• Self-motivated
• Works well with a team

Job Types:

Compensation and Benefits: 

• $17.50 per hour
• Flexible schedule
• Paid training
• Access to complimentary tickets for employee and guests to attend The Sofia: Home of B Street Theatre’s programming.

Available Schedules:

• Day shift
• Evening shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekend availability

Other Considerations: 

• Staff may be required to submit to weekly COVID testing.
• Remote work is not available.
