Stan Getz, revered for his warm, singing tone, brought jazz to international audiences through his groundbreaking work in bossa nova and beyond. The concert will include iconic selections such as The Girl from Ipanema and Desafinado, showcasing the lyrical beauty and rhythmic vitality that made Getz a global star.
A special highlight of the evening will be a recreation of music from their sole collaborative recording, Stan Getz & Bill Evans, released on Verve in 1964. This historic session featured timeless American Songbook standards including Night and Day and But Beautiful, capturing a rare and intimate meeting of two master improvisers at the height of their artistry.
In addition to the performances, the concert will offer engaging commentary on Evans and Getz — their musical innovations, personal journeys, and lasting impact on the evolution of jazz.
