The Jacam Manricks Orchestra
On October 24th at The Sofia, the Jacam Manricks Orchestra — a 19-piece ensemble of world-class jazz artists with ties to Sacramento, LA, New York, New Orleans, and the Bay Area — takes the stage. Formed in 2019, this orchestra has wowed audiences with its passionate performances, original compositions, and masterful arrangements by Jacam Manricks.
This special evening will celebrate the rich tradition of big band music through an eclectic program inspired by legends such as Miles Davis, Duke Ellington, and Ray Charles, the soulful grooves of Aretha Franklin and Earth, Wind & Fire, and the vibrant Latin rhythms of Tito Puente. Expect exhilarating music, incredible artistry, and insightful moments that illuminate the beauty and history of large ensemble jazz.
