IN A NUTSHELL: Storytelling Series
Every month, In a Nutshell invites four experienced storytellers from all walks of life to tell a true story LIVE based on intriguing, off-the-beaten-path theme prompts designed to challenge the storytellers to dig deeper and engage audiences with their heads, hearts, and everything in between. At In a Nutshell, audiences can count on a riveting evening of storytelling from experienced storytellers with a diversity of lives-lived.
Featured Storytellers:
JP FRARY designs and builds furniture and sculptures, making beautiful things out of recycled materials. His stories can be heard in lumber yards and hardware stores throughout the Bay Area, as well as on KQED. He's a multiple-time Moth Story Slam winner.
KIRY SHABAZZ is a comedian as seen on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Comedy Central, Bill Burr's The Ringers, Epix Unprotected Sets Season 2, JFL's New Faces, and Don't Tell Comedy now airing on Hulu.
BEAU RYDER DAVIS is a comedian and 8-time Moth Story Slam winner, recent Bay Area Moth GrandSlam winner, and has appeared on the nationally syndicated Moth Radio Hour.
KAY DEMARTINI is a multi-Moth winner, NPR storyteller, television comic, commercial actress, professional improviser, and corporate keynote speaker. Glynn Washington of NPR’s Snap Judgment says Kay is “a teacher, a healer, a coach. Her storytelling skills run deep.”

In a Nutshell is hosted and curated by storytelling comedian Keith Lowell Jensen, book editor Amy Bee, and author Aaron Carnes, three friends who want nothing more than to give humans laughter, insight, and the full spectrum of emotion from the absolute best live storytellers in the universe — that’s all.
