IN A NUTSHELL: Storytelling Series
Every month, In a Nutshell invites four experienced storytellers from all walks of life to tell a true story LIVE based on intriguing, off-the-beaten-path theme prompts designed to challenge the storytellers to dig deeper and engage audiences with their heads, hearts, and everything in between. At In a Nutshell, audiences can count on a riveting evening of storytelling from experienced storytellers with a diversity of lives-lived.

FEATURED STORYTELLERS:
Jerry Montoya is a playwright and the Executive Producer of the B Street Theatre and the Sofia Center for the Arts in Sacramento, CA. His family narrative Nosotros La Gente was originally commissioned and produced by American Stage in St. Petersburg, Florida and was recently produced on the main stage at the B Street Theatre as part of the 2025 season. His play Love And Baseball received its world premiere at B Street in 2016, was produced again 2022, and is now a feature film.
Diane Amos SHE'S BAAACK!!! Diane is a San Francisco-based actress, improv artist, and comedian known as “The Pine-Sol Lady,” having starred in their national commercials for over 20 years and served as their spokesperson for almost 30 years. Diane was raised in San Francisco by two lesbian mothers and attended Washington High School in the Richmond District, where she took an improvisational comedy class... and the rest is history.
Mark S. Allen is an American seven time Emmy Award-winning television producer/host, and producer, writer, and director of multiple feature films and director of the Cannes best dark comedy winner Amy's F- It List. He is also a cast member on ABC10 Morning news on KXTV in Sacramento. In 2018 he co-founded The Smart Axe Co, the largest California based chain of World Axe League certified Axe bars.
Regina Stoops is an award-winning storyteller, comedian, writer, and co-producer of the online storytelling platform Six Feet Apart Productions. Her stories have been heard on the Risk! Podcast, The Moth Grand Slam stage, NPR’s Story Borealis, Unreeling Stories, and the Women's Storytelling Festival. Regina uses storytelling as her weapon of choice to help tackle diversity, adversity, and suburban chaos.
In a Nutshell is hosted and curated by storytelling comedian Keith Lowell Jensen, book editor Amy Bee, and author Aaron Carnes, three friends who want nothing more than to give humans laughter, insight, and the full spectrum of emotion from the absolute best live storytellers in the universe — that’s all.
