The Becky & Bob Norris New Play Fund

At B Street Theatre, it is the passion of our patrons and donors that fuels our mission to cultivate new, exciting plays for the American stage. Bob and Becky Norris began as volunteers and quickly established themselves as passionate advocates for the power of storytelling. Their love of theatre was rooted in a deep belief that new plays breathe life into our cultural conversation, challenge our perspectives, and build lasting connections between artists and audiences through laughter, tears, or both.

Becky Norris sadly passed away on June 13, 2025, just as ADVICE by Brent Askari (a play she and Bob proudly sponsored) began its world premiere run at B Street Theatre. An artist is nothing without the ardent support of patrons who believe in their voice and vision. Becky’s bright spirit and boundless enthusiasm made her a beloved presence — she greeted staff with hugs, attended countless shows, and celebrated every new play with joy and optimism. Becky will be greatly missed, and we hope her passion for new plays lives on in every world premiere we produce.

To honor her memory, we have established the Becky & Bob Norris New Play Fund. This fund will allocate donations to support the development of new plays for all ages, a mission that Becky held close to her heart. We are deeply grateful for Becky’s years of support and hope her and Bob’s advocacy inspires others to champion bold, new work for the stage.
